As I scanned the past days’ sports news, Japeth Aguilar, the 6’9” one-time Ateneo center, has been the local headline owing to the fast-approaching PBA Annual Rookie Draft slated next Sunday (Aug. 2) at Market! Market! in Taguig City.
Aguilar is surely blessed with agility and athleticism that just a few players of his height possess. Which is also why he is tipped to be the first homegrown talent to be drafted first pick overall since Yancy de Ocampo did the trick in 2002.
If you scan through the other PBA hopefuls, there are a lot of notable collegiate names that are being eyed by pro scouts in the hope of injecting young and fresh blood to PBA teams.
